Cookbook Launch Event at MPH MidValley

 

25 Aug 2019 - The Lost Recipes of Malaysia Cookbook (revised edition) was launched at MPH, MidValley in conjunction with MPH bookstore's Support Your Local Malaysian Authors Campaign for the 62nd Merdeka Day.

The crowd was modest supported by friends, family and some of our At 19 Culinary customers. Book sales were brisk with buyers taking the opportunity to approach the authors who were present to sign-off their cookbooks.


We wish to thank everyone who came to support us and to MPH Publishing for organising the launch event and for believing in the cookbook to have a revised edition published again in 2019 after it was first launched 5 years ago. The cookbook won 2nd prize in the World Gourmand Cookbook Awards 2015.

Lost Recipes of Malaysia Cookbook (revised edition) Launch

25 Aug 2019 - At 19 Culinary Studio's Lost Recipes of Malaysia cookbook (revised edition) will be launched at MPH Midvalley on 25 Aug 2019 (2pm-3pm). This cookbook is one of our best achievements as we celebrate our cooking school's 9th Anniversary in 2019.

Lost Recipes of Malaysia cookbook was first launched in May 2014 and won 2nd prize for Best Historical Recipes at the World Gourmand Cookbook Awards. This revised edition to be launched after 5 years since it was first published speaks volumes for the quality and content of the cookbook. Most would have faded into oblivion...lost and forgotten.

Kuala Lumpur's Top Kids Activity


Sept 2017 - Little Steps Asia has selected At 19 Culinary Studio Kids Baking Programme as a Top Pick in their 2017 Guide for "Top After School Activities in Kuala Lumpur".

The objective of this programme is for young kids or teenagers (... or baking first timers) to discover their interest and love for the culinary world. We also aim to nurture young children to learn baking skills from scratch and gradually improve these baking skills over a period of time. Students will be taught the different tips and beginners’ baking techniques. They will learn about the ingredients used in baking and begin a journey of discovering the wonderful world of sense, smell and taste.

Astro Nat Geo People Channel 725 - 18 May 2016





May 2016 - At 19 Culinary Studio's kitchen, which has been featured in many cooking shows and advertisements, was once again chosen as the kitchen studio for Episode 1 of John Torode's Malaysian Adventure cooking show currently airing at Astro Nat Geo People Channel 725. British Australian celebrity Chef John Torode and local Malaysian celebrity Chef Sherson cooked our national dish, Nasi Lemak, at At 19 Culinary Studio's kitchen.

Best of the Best Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2015



9 June 2015 - At 19 Culinary Studio's cookbook, Lost Recipes of Malaysia, won 2nd place at the Best of the Best Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2015 held on 9 June in Yantai, China.

At 19 Culinary Studio representing Malaysia was competing with countries like Canada, China, France, Mexico, Peru and USA in the Historical Recipes category. To get 2nd placing is indeed a great honour especially it was our first attempt at publishing a cookbook. 1st place went to Mexico and 3rd place to France.

Malaysian Reserved - 11 March 2015


March 2015 - At 19 Culinary Studio's cookbook, Lost recipes of Malaysia, has been featured in the Malaysian Reserved newspaper. The review gave a thumbs up for "a gorgeously produced book". It says "This book has some really gorgeous photography. In fact it looks and seems like a coffee table book." It goes on to commend the chefs for their effort in "cataloging rare Malaysian recipes, Malaysian herbs and talking about the history of Malaysian food."

"Each recipe comes with an introduction to its origin and a description to what it is." We agree that this cookbook is "very useful and attractive for tourists, expats or as gifts for these groups."

Lost Recipes of Malaysia has been saluted as one of the finest titles of 2014 by MPH Bookstores. It has also been picked by the Gourmand Awards for Best Historical Recipes category for Malaysia. Lost Recipes of Malaysia will compete at the World Gourmand Cookbooks Awards 2015 happening in China in June.
